Bacon is killing us! African Americans are more at risk | GZE Podcast

An report, by the American Heart Association says For African-Americans, the prevalence of high blood pressure is among the highest in the world. More than 40 percent of non-Hispanic African-American men and women have high blood pressure. For African-Americans, high blood pressure also develops earlier in life and is usually more severe.

This is due to poverty and non-access to healthier food items. Families often have no choice but to buy cheaper less-healthier food items that can be stretched-out across several days or weeks.

To broaden the conversation, The GZE (Generation Z Experience) podcast joined the debate Plant-base diets vs the Meat Industry on their latest podcast "Humans Aren't Even Supposed to Eat Meat".  Watch the video below.

The meat and poultry industry is the largest segment of U.S. agriculture, with U.S. meat production at 52 billion pounds in 2017. There is a large disparity with $38 million in government subsidies going to the meat and dairy industries, but only $17 million, or 0.04%, goes towards the fruit and vegetable industries.
Saving the planet, from the Meat industry continues to be a focus for Environmental advocacy groups that believe it's having a massive impact on our health, our planet, and the economy.
