NFL cornerback Richard Sherman arrested for Domestic Disturbance

Free Agent Richard Sherman was arrested in Seattle early Wednesday 7/14/21 morning on three criminal charges, including felony domestic violence residential burglary, according to authorities.

Sherman, caused damage to a door while trying to break into his in-laws’ home shortly before 2 a.m. in the morning.

Sherman was also involved in a car crash prior to arriving at his Father-in-Law's home. He is also facing charges of DUI and hit-and-run. He appeared before a judge on Thursday and was released without bail.

Early Friday more information is coming to light on the incident. As surveillance footage has leaked online.

Sherman has allegedly been undergoing mental health issues and his wife, Ashley Sherman claimed he was drunk and threatening to kill himself during her 9-1-1 call.

Sherman is a vice president on the NFL's union executive committee. And they have released a statement.

“We were made aware of an arrest last night of one of our player leaders for an alleged domestic violence incident and have activated our domestic violence crisis protocol for the protection and support of everyone involved,” the NFL Players Association said, without identifying the player, in a statement. “We will continue to monitor events closely as more facts are made available to us.”

We are praying for Richard Sherman and his family! Mental health isn't something to laugh about. It's a serious situation and he deserves his privacy. We wish him a speedy recovery.
